Installation from CD on UNIX and Windows for evaluation
If you want to evaluate the software on both Unix and Windows platforms
these are the easy steps.
1. As ROOT on the Unix NFS machine run the install script
found in the root directory of the CD, this will install EasyCopy but
not the license dispatcher
2. When you get to the Installation Options leave the
product options (1) as they are but change (3) to reflect the different
Unix versions you want to run from the NFS server.
3. You will now be shown another menu where you can change
the system locations, change this as necessary
4. EasyCopy will now be installed.
5. In the EasyCopy installation directory you will see a
‘license’ directory, run the install script. This will install the
license dispatcher. Option (1) will install the software and you will
be able to change the system locations.
6. Even though you don’t have a license at this point
please select option (2) and you will get an information screen that
will show you the IP address and EasyCopy Primary Key, please email both
to me.
7. When you have been sent the evaluation license you will
need to run the install script in the ‘license’ directory again to be
able select option (2) to enter the evaluation license.
8. Start the license dispatcher
9. Start EasyCopy on the NFS mount and under
Options/Password please enter the same evaluation license, this is
telling EasyCopy Unix where to look for the license dispatcher software
as the IP address is embedded in the license.
10. All Unix versions should now work ok. If you want to
access the license dispatcher status the attached PDF will show you how
and also includes how to have it start on reboot.
11. On Windows machines as Administrator install the Windows
version of EasyCopy from the CD and when the GUI is started under
Options/Password again paste in the same evaluation license key. You
will need to use the ‘local’ installation option.
