ecdaemon is not responding

If you get the following error message:

You will need to install/reinstall your password by following the below steps:

On UNIX:

Become root on License Dispatcher server.

If the ecdaemon is already running then stop the daemon by typing:

ecdaemon stop

cd to the EasyCopy installation path

type

./install

Select Password Maintenance

Select Install Password

Enter password string

exit

At the prompt, type:

ecdaemon start

It may take several minutes!

When the license dispatcher reports that it is now accepting queries, users may begin working with EasyCopy.

On Windows:

Get administrator rights.

Open ecmonitor, which you will find under Start, Programs, EasyCopy, EasyCopy License Dispatcher.

If the License Dispatcher is running you can use these four buttons:

Stop

This command stops the License Dispatcher.

Restart

This command restarts (stops and starts) the License Dispatcher.

Status

This command displays the current status of your EasyCopy licenses. The status is shown in a command prompt window.

Assign

This command lets you assign or unassign licenses. It opens a command prompt window.

Again it may take several minutes!
